These fine Spanish Black Truffles (also known as Périgord truffles in France) are known as the queen of truffles. The coal-black skin with warts reveals the most exquisite aroma: earthy, intense, with a splash of red on the nose, the full fragrance is revealed when shaved over a warm dish.
The black truffle is produced by a third-generation grower and brought fresh to the UK several times a week during the short December to April season. The oak turneries at 950m above sea level in Teruel in Eastern Spain have the perfect chalky soil and dry climate for growing black truffles.
